Regional Logistics Centre Director
ACF is looking for a Regional Logistics Centre Director based in Nairobi, Kenya (with possible frequent travel to neighbouring countries).
The person will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations of ACF-USA.

ACF is looking for a Regional Logistics Centre Director based in Nairobi, Kenya (with possible frequent travel to neighbouring countries).
The person will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations of ACF-USA.
Responsibilities
- Set strategic goals for the Logistics Centre
- Manage the day to day operations of the Regional Logistics Centre
- Manage all procurement and freight for ACF-USA missions worldwide
- Develop framework contracts with suppliers at global level
- Develop an online supplier catalogue for ACF-USA
- Provide technical support to Logistics Coordinators in the region and ensure compliance to ACF regulations
- Participate in security meetings in conjunction with ACF Kenya mission
- Develop logistics training modules in conjunction with ACF’s Regional Training Centre and provide pre-departure trainings to new ACF staff,
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, chain supply or logistics
- An MBA or Masters in Chain Supply would be an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of meaningful professional experience as Logistics Coordinator for an international NGO, preferably with ACF.
- 1 year experience in the freight and forwarding industry would be an added advantage
- Proven staff and financial management experience
- Experience in developing logistics training modules.
- Experience in procurement management and particularly developing framework contracts, catalogues…
Specific skills
- Ability to work independently when necessary, set realistic strategic goals, and work within agreed timelines.
- Ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts verbally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to support, motivate, and train field staff.
- Professional computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, internet, and email.
Personal skills
- Ability to communicate and perform within an international and multicultural team.
- Fluency in English and French is mandatory.
- Familiarity with humanitarian principles
- Knowledge of different donor mandates and their reporting procedures is an advantage.
- Knowledge of financial software (i.e. SAGA).
