Senior Program Associate – Reproductive Health / Family Planning (RH/FP)
The Senior Program Associate will provide technical assistance and build capacity to improve health commodity and pharmaceutical management systems in Kenya as a RH/FP team leader working under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party.
The Senior Program Associate (SPA) will support the provision of MSH/HCSM technical assistance to the Division of Reproductive Health (DRH) and other stakeholders in planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating activities, with special attention to health commodity management and pharmaceutical services.
The SPA will also coordinate the implementation of RH/RP activities in the regions at district and facility level in collaboration with regional HCSM staff.
Applicants must possess a relevant academic degree or equivalent, relevant, professional training with significant experience in public health, health commodity logistics management systems, forecasting and quantification.
Qualification in health sciences, public health or pharmacy is preferred.
He / She must have strong familiarity and experience with implementing public health programs and/or health system strengthening interventions.
Knowledge of and/or experience in RH/FP interventions and public health management issues in developing country context is required.
Candidates must demonstrate ability and willingness to travel periodically within Kenya.
Thorough understanding of the Kenya public health sector is required for this position.
Senior Laboratory Systems Strengthening Specialist
The Senior Laboratory Systems Strengthening Specialist works with a team of public health
professionals to strengthen laboratory systems and services in Kenya, with the aim of supporting
and improving HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria programs.
He/she participates in conducting assessments, and in the design, training, testing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of laboratory and point-of-care diagnostic services and systems.
He/she participates in stakeholder technical working groups and meetings that continuously advocate for evidence- based standardization and harmonization of laboratory tests, methods and equipment within the national system.
Applicant will possess a minimum of Bachelor of Science or Medical degree, plus a relevant higher qualification, e.g. Master’s degree in medical microbiology, pathology, public health or related field.
Registration with the appropriate regulatory authority such as the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians’ and Technologists’ Board ((KMLTTB) or Kenya Medical Practioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB) is mandatory.
In addition the applicant needs to have at least ten (10) years experience working in a laboratory services setting of which 5 years should have been in a laboratory management position.
