The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) is an independent , non profit applied policy research organization with a focus on human security in Africa. Its mission is to conceptualise, inform and enhance the human security debate on the continent. The ISS has offices in Addisababa, Cape Town, Nairobi, Dakar and Pretoria

ISS Vacancy, Nairobi: Office Manager

Closing Date: This Position Remains Open Until Filled

The successful candidate will provide overall management and oversight to the Nairobi office on all matters relating to financial management, human resources management, legal compliance and general administration.

S/he will work in collaboration with a team of staff members, with the support of ISS Pretoria.

S/he will be responsible for the overall financial and administrative management of the office, ensure effective human resource management relating to staff performance, grievance and disciplinary matters, and manage a team of finance and administrative staff.

The successful candidate will have an unblemished record of integrity in his/her career, and be a strong and capable manager.

Requirements:
  • A relevant degree.
  • A minimum of ten years general management experience.
  • Excellent financial and human resource management skills.
  • Good communication, presentation and networking skills.
  • Strong record of integrity.
Salary: Salary commensurate with ISS internal salary structure.

Assumption of duties: 01 April 2012.
