International Rescue Committee jobs in Kenya


The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Kenya serves vulnerable populations in the Turkana and Garissa regions as well as in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The IRC implements programs in the areas of comprehensive primary health care, nutrition, protection, peace building, water and sanitation and hygiene (WASH), HIV/AIDS prevention, response to gender based violence, disaster risk reduction (DRR), livelihoods and governance.


Applications are invited for the following positions:

1. Human Resources and Administration Manager - Hagadera
 Job Purpose / Objective

Based in Hagadera refugee camp, the HR and Administration Manager will  work in liaison with the Field Coordinator and the Human Resource Coordinator to offer support services in Human Resource Management and Administration to IRC staff members as regards personnel administration, auxiliary payroll processing, leave administration, recruitment and employee relations in the IRC Kenya, Dadaab Program.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management or related degree. Graduate diploma in Human Resource management with a strong working experience in the HR field is an added advantage
  • Conversant with word processing, spreadsheet and email computer applications
Required Experience & Competencies:
  • At least 3 years experience in Human Resource management
  • Good knowledge and application of the Kenyan Labour Law
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high degree of flexibility and a team player
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
  • Budget and program management experience is an added advantage
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Swahili. Fluency in Somali language will be an added advantage
2. Data Manager, Lodwar

Based in Lodwar, the Data Manager will work closely with provincial and district Ministry of Health (MOH) Health Records Information Officers in providing training and necessary support for data collection, analysis, dissemination, and use at all levels of health service delivery.

He/she will assist facility-based health workers and community-based groups to develop and maintain a system that facilitates use of data and information for their day-to-day functions and to track their own progress, compare their services to others, and better understand the value and meaning of the data they collect.

Qualifications:
  • A degree in Statistics/Health Statistics required. Masters degree in biostatistics preferable.
  • At least two years experience in monitoring and evaluation of public health programs.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS monitoring and familiarity with the PEPFAR indicators and MOH tools.
  • Computer skills in word processing, spread sheets, and database management packages.
  • Knowledge in management, maintenance, and troubleshooting computer systems including LAN preferred.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Fluency in Turkana language will be an added advantage
