The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education
(KCPE) examination results will be released on Monday, the Kenya
National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced.
Education minister Mutula
Kilonzo will release the results at KNEC's offices, Mitihani House off
Caledonia Road in Nairobi at 9.30am.
“After the release, candidates
are advised to collect their exam results from their respective centres
where they registered,” KNEC secretary Paul Wasanga said on Tuesday.
“Candidates who have their
results withheld will receive a letter through their headteachers
explaining why the results have been withheld,” Mr Wasanga said.
Results of some 811, 930 candidates will be released.
Upon receipt of the results,
candidates have 30 days to scrutinise them and lodge complaints with
KNEC including all forms of discrepancies in the details of the results
slips.
These details include the
candidates name, index number and gender, school name, code and the
grades obtained in each of the subjects.
Mr Wasanga said that candidates
involved in exam irregularities will have their results cancelled and
informed in writing through their head teachers.
“The head teachers are expected
to inform candidates whose results have been cancelled and
parents/guardians are advised to get information from the head teachers
instead of travelling all the way to KNEC,” he added.
Cancelled results are never remarked.
