Securing an income for
older people through social protection mechanisms and in particular
through social pensions is a strategic priority area for HelpAge.
HelpAge seeks to recruit a Social Protection Programme Manager for Kenya who will provide overall management and implementation of the Hunger Safety Net Programme Phase II social protection rights component which takes forward the grievance mechanism developed in Phase I along with payment processes and grievance management to 150,000 households.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Sciences or other related field and a post graduate qualification in Project Planning and Management.

The candidate will have a
good understanding of the social protection agenda in Kenya and Africa
more widely as well as knowledge of rights based programming.
The candidate should have substantial experience in managing complex projects, including financial management and budgeting.
Other experience needed is the ability to build capacity of staff and partners, data interpretation and negotiation.
Communication, including report writing skills, and analytical skills are essential in this position.
