Hills Community Development Organization, a multi-donor funded NGO seeks to
fill the position of Horticulturist to
manage the Drip irrigation Farm under its enterprise Department.
Duties and Responsibilities for Horticulturalist
1. Assists in the preparation of crop protection programs for the control of plant diseases and insects
2. Prepares orders for various types of plants and seeds in consultation with

1. Assists in the preparation of crop protection programs for the control of plant diseases and insects
3. Trains and supervises subordinate personnel in greenhouse operations and in the proper methods and techniques of planting and propagation of crops.
4. Implement appropriate fertilizer programs for various horticultural crop in the drip farm and greenhouse
5. Prepare and implement farm production plan
6. Prepare and implement proper crop husbandry and nursery management
7. Keep the farm records perfectly on the operations and update them time to time.
8. Care and maintenance of drip irrigation system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of horticulture crops and their management in all phases.
- Thorough knowledge of plant propagation and culturation.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles / practices of nursery management.
- Knowledge of the principles of supervision.
- prior experience working in a drip farm/greenhouse set up.
- should be a team player.
Qualification
- At least a diploma in horticulture from recognised institutions
- At least two years and above experience in horticultural farm preferably under drip irrigation/greenhouse system
- Valid driving/riding license
- Computer skills are compulsory
