Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Chief Manager, Finance and Investment will be responsible for providing technical and strategic leadership in financial statements reporting and management of the organization’s financial investment activities ¡n order to secure its financial resources and maximize on returns.

Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Chief Manager, Finance and Investment will be responsible for providing technical and strategic leadership in financial statements reporting and management of the organization’s financial investment activities ¡n order to secure its financial resources and maximize on returns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO
- Oversee the preparation of annual plans, budgets and financial statements for the company, internal and external schemes.
- Develop and implement sound financial investment strategies to ensure the continued funding and success of the organization.
- Develop, implement and continually review the organization’s financial and investment policies and ensure compliance and safeguard the financial assets of the organization.
- Design and implement investment structures and oversee asset management and allocation that will maximize returns to the organization.
- Provide professional leadership and technical guidance in identifying and evaluating organizational risk factors and devise appropriate strategies to reduce losses and operational inefficiencies.
- Oversee all reporting activities and interpret financial and investment reports, statements and related records and advice the Managing Director accordingly on options for action.
- Take charge of corporate forecasting including forecast models and metrics to accurately predict the outcome of potential or proposed business transactions; analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital and advice on the organization’s current and projected financial position in order to ensure availability of funds to implement planned activities.
- Coordinate the preparation of tax returns to ensure compliance with periodic tax payments, information reporting and other statutory requirements and advice the Managing Director on effective strategies for maximizing tax liability.
- Ensure the development and implementation of improved accounting systems to improve and enhance the quality, timeliness and availability of information to support decision making.
- Monitor activities, costs, operations and status of ongoing programmes in order to determine progress towards stated goals and objectives and take the necessary steps to ensure that any deviations are immediately acted upon.
- Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring audit issues are resolved and compliance issues are met.
- Identify new financing opportunities and cultivate stakeholder relationships with financial institutions and other stakeholders to secure additional funding and financial resources for the organization
- Develop and mentor the finance team.
Minimum Qualification and experience
- Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA), ¡n Economics/Finance or related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA (K)/ACA /ACCA, ACMA or equivalent membership to a relevant professional body.
- Over eight years experience gained in the compliance of retirement benefit schemes, management of pension or related core business.
- An understanding of/experience working with Capital and Money Markets.
Key Competences
- Considerable knowledge of economics, financial management, commercial law, including ¡n depth understanding of RBA rule, regulations and guidelines as well as pension industry in the global market.
- Considerable knowledge of international accounting standards such as IFRS, GAAP etc.
- Strong customer focus, flexibility and responsiveness in handling and determining stakeholder complaints.
- Technical expertise in strategic planning and budgeting, risk management, quality assurance as well as monitoring and evaluation.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market rates.
- Proficiency in financial and statistical packages and computer applications such as MSWord, MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook express.
- Ability to advice on changes and their implementation and provide training,tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
- Strong leadership skills to foster teamwork; develop and motivate staff, resolve conflicts as well as ability to provide direction, guidance, momentum and vision in order to achieve organizational objectives.
