Catholic Bishops for relief and development overseas. CRS supports
programs in over 100 countries and works through local partners.
We are seeking suitable persons to fill the following position in response to the drought crisis in the country.
All candidates require
technical competencies in the respective areas, adequate relevant
experience, willingness to travel to field locations and a commitment to work with and support partners of CRS, many of whom are Catholic Institutions.
Position: Project Manager – WASH

Background/ Job Summary:
Reporting to the Program
Manager-WASH, the position holder will take lead in managing a 2 years
USAID funded Kenya Arid Lands Disaster Risk Reduction-WASH Program in
Wajir East and South Districts of Wajir County.
Core responsibilities
will include managing and tracking project budget, preparation of
technical and financial progress reports, capacity building of partner
project staff implementing the project as well as coordinate the project
monitoring, evaluation and learning aspects.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate planning and implementation of the Arid Lands Disaster Risk Reduction-WASH Program with local implementing partner
- Plan, organize and coordinate quarterly implementation review meetings with partners
- Consistently track project budget and program performance
- Take lead in the documentation and dissemination of project information
- Maintain and or develop productive relationships and communication with partner staff and officials through regular visits and share relevant CRS resources.
- Facilitate organizational assessments of the local implementing partner capacity needs and create individualized capacity development plans., as well as organize hands on trainings and coaching activities
- Coordinate the provision of technical assistance to Caritas Garissa including support on human resources, security, M&E, administration and programming.
- Represent CRS Kenya in project consortium meetings and stakeholders sectorial meetings
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirement
- University degree in disciplines relevant to the one of following areas: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sanitation Engineering, or a field related to WASH/IWRM with solid experience in organizational development, or capacity building.
- Knowledge of participatory development methodologies including Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), (PHAST), (CLTS and (CHAST)
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in management and technical assistance to WASH development and/or emergency programs preferably in a INGO setting.
- High level of integrity and professionalism and good stewardship of resources
- Ability to cultivate constructive relationships
