The Role
Working closely with the
Somalia campaign manager and policy and media leads this role will
contribute to developing and delivering campaigning and advocacy on
issues around peace, gender, and livelihoods in the country.
Focused on developing our national advocacy.
The Person
To be successful in this
role, you will be a graduate with extensive experience in a humanitarian
or development organization and an understanding of livelihoods,
resilience, gender or peace work in the country.
Experience of capacity building and planning in the humanitarian or development sector will be an advantage.
You will have in-depth
expertise in the political and cultural context in Somalia and be fluent
in both spoken and written Somali.
You need to feel confident working in a large organization with high workloads and a large number of stakeholders.
You must be able to
represent the organisation externally in a professional manner as well
as be sensitive to cultural and gender differences and be able to work
in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
You will need to be an
excellent communicator, be fluent in written and spoken English and be
willing to travel on short visits at short notice.
You will also have a
proven ability in analysing situations and be able to come up with
creative solutions to the issues that Somalia faces.
