Chinese Scholarship by the Peoples’ Government of Zhejiang Province, China 2013/2014
 

The Peoples’ Government of Zhejiang Province, China has offered five (5) partial scholarships to Kenyan students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for academic year 2013/2014.

Areas of study are open, including Chinese culture study and Chinese language study.
 

Eligibility Criteria
 

A. Undergraduate

The applicants should be:
 

I. Holders of minimum of KCSE grade B (plain) with a strong grade in the subjects relevant to the desired course
 

II. Under 23 years of age
 

III. Those who have completed school in the last (3) three years and have original KCSE certificate
 

B. Postgraduate
 

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

• For Masters scholarship, be a holder of bachelors degree of at least upper 2nd class honors
• For PhD scholarship, be a holder of a very good Master’s Degree
• Are serving the country in the public sector
• Are below 35 years for masters and 45 years for PhD
• Completed two (2) years of continuous public service since their last degree studies.

C. Condition for the Scholarship
 

Students should be ready to sponsor themselves after the 1st year of their studies since sponsorship is guaranteed for the first year only.
 

Students are requested to check university information on the link:- www.study-in-china.org/university/zhejiang/ to select universities and programmes they wish to study and attach the names on the application form.
 

Application Procedure
 

All eligible students MUST read and follow the guidelines strictly:
 

1. Obtain preliminary application forms from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology offices at Telposta Towers, 27th Floor room 2702. The application forms can also be downloaded from the Ministry’s website: www.scienceandtechnology.go.ke.
 

2. Completed application forms with attached certified photocopies of ID, academic/professional certificates, transcripts, Birth Certificate, other testimonials and a proposal in the area of study should be sent to:

3. The Preliminary application forms should reach the Ministry not later than 7th February, 2013.
