A USAID contractor is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist for a fast-paced program located in Mombasa.
The candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili, and must be willing and able to travel frequently.

The Procurement
Specialist is responsible for all procurement functions, including the
procurement of goods and services for operational and programmatic
requirements.
He/she will work directly
with local or regional vendors and service providers to obtain
quotations and/or initiate procurements of requested commodities and
services.
Additionally he/she will
monitor contracts and purchase orders issued to vendors and follow up as
necessary to ensure compliance with all terms and conditions.
The Procurement
Specialist will engage with the project's commodity management tracking
system for grantees and provide accurate information to the office
manager for office inventory.
He/she will train staff in procurement policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of the procurement process.
Qualifications
Qualifications
This position
requires at least three years of relevant experience in procurement,
including experience working with USAID or other donor-funded programs
in Kenya – preferably including Mombasa as a solid understanding of
local market conditions is essential.
A Bachelor's degree in relevant field required; additional coursework focused on procurement and logistics is also preferred.
All candidates must possess strong skills in basic computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience working independently and managing multiple projects at any given time.
